New Capital and Construction Permit
Mysteries of the World: Construction Begins

March 1st, 2001

In March 2001, the Mystery Park Ltd. will reach another important milestone in its short history. In the presence of friends, representatives of the authorities and the media, the successful author Erich von Däniken will be breaking ground and construction work for Interlaken's adventure and theme park can begin.

"This is the realisation of my life's dream!" says Erich von Däniken, initiator of this extraordinary Swiss tourism project. By the end of May 2001, the foundation of the main building will be constructed on the 100'000 square meter site of the former military airfield.

The land-lease contract, valid for 99 years, was entered with the Federal Office for Defence, Civil Protection, and Sport, and has been in force since January 1st, 2001. In addition, final construction permits have been approved and obtained for the theme park and its access development buildings. The district governor has also granted advance permission for construction so that work may begin during a favorable time, ie. before the ground water level starts to rise. All formal objections concerning the park have been settled amicably. Three objections relating to access plans are still pending, but the authorities have recommended for these to be rejected.

4000 Shareholders
The finances for the first construction phase has been fully secured. A total of CHF 30 million has been raised through shares and sponsor contracts. Main sponsors include Valora, Hotela, Feldschlösschen, SBB, Sony and IBI (Industrielle Betriebe Interlaken). In the educational sector, the project is supported by the State Department for Economic Affairs. Listed on the Berne and Berlin stock exchanges, there are approximately 4,000 shareholders in the Mystery Park Ltd. Additional acceptance on the Swiss Stock Exchange (SWX) is planned.

The next general shareholders meeting on 1 March 2001 will decide on another increase in share capital which should yield another CHF 20 million (share capital and agio) in the coming weeks. Intensive discussions apout participation are currently being held with well-known Swiss and foreign investors, with whom an additional approved capital of a nominal CHF13,3 million is anticipated.

The total construction cost of CHF 80 million for the theme park and the CHF 6 million required for the catering department will be be financed exclusively through share capital, sponsors and private grants. The financial press now rates the likelihood of Erich von Däniken's project being a success as highly positive.

Number of Personnel to Increase
The Mystery Park Ltd. has filled further management positions and appointed an administrative manager and a marketing manager. Experts in creative presentation will also be appointed in the coming months. The work force is also being increased according to capacity requirements. The theme park expects an annual 500,000 visitors. The operating budget, examined and approved by business consultants Price Waterhouse Coopers, anticipates a turnover of CHF13,5 million in the first year of business operations.

Pre-tax profits are expected to reach CHF 5.1 million.
