The Pyramid of Gizeh

Egyptologists assure us that the Great Pyramid of Gizeh was built by Pharoah Cheops (2552-2528 BCE) within 20 years. But in ancient Egyptian writings other dates are mentioned. Arab historians refer to the years "before the flood". Modern experts were of the opinion that the Great Pyramid housed no more secrets, but this was contradicted in 1993 by the findings of an exploratory trip by robot into the pyramid carried out by the German engineer Rudolf Gantenbrink. The robot discovered a 65 metre-long shaft at the end of which was a door with two metal hinges. The pyramid itself is part of a network of geometrical curiosities. Its been built exactly in line with the four points of the compass. It lies in the centre of the continent. The meridian which runs through the Great Pyramid separates the continents and the seas into two parts of equal size. The North-South line includes mostly land masses. The distance from the centre of the earth is exactly that of the distance to the North Pole.

"Mysteries of the World" will feature a pyramid which visitors can enter along a catwalk. In every direction, they will be able to see another scene from the Cheops pyramid of Gizeh. With the help of mirrors and holographic effects, they can glimpse into the great "gallery", "the Kings Chamber" or the "uncompleted tomb" in the rock under the pyramid. The walls will contain all the theories about the construction of the pyramid. But questions still abound. Who were the architects? Who was the engineer? To raise around 2.5 million stone blocks within 20 years, an average of 416 blocks a day would have had to be cut, transported and placed in the right positions. That means over a period of 12 hours, one block every two minutes.

With computer animations, all the geometric curiosities about the Great Pyramid and its connection to the earth will be presented three-dimensionally. On a movie screen, visitors can witness Rudolf Gantenbrinks exploit with the robot as it moves backwards and forwards, past chisel marks, openings similar to doors and various kinds of rock. Is there an astronomical connection? We show such connections with Orion, Sirius and the Polar star. Robots or dolls in ancient Egyptian dress recount the fantastic stories from Arab tradition concerning the pyramid.

On the lawn beside the pyramid, those in need of a bit of exercise will have a chance to try moving a five-ton granite block with the help of various machinery.
